Does the child have to be a certain age for a Buccal swab test?
A. No. In fact, the procedure can be done immediately after birth, if necessary.
What can I do if the legally presumed father will not allow a voluntary acknowledgement of paternity?
A. Generally, voluntary acknowledgements of paternity are not allowed unless the legally presumed father consents to it or a Court determines that the legally presumed father is not, in fact, the biological father of the child. The best way to reconcile this situation is to request a DNA test be conducted on the child, mother, and the potential father.
